My crawler started out as a $50 toy from toys-r-us. This build thread illustrates the transition from a toy grade RC to a hobby grade crawler. The potential with this RC is awesome. It has independent dive motors, and locked diffs.
When purchased:
I immediately painted the body and rims to match my TJ.
The flex was pretty good but could be alot better.
Fist thing was to cut the frame:
Next was inserting longer rods in the spring cups:
This isnt my RC, but the suspension design is the same.
Once all back together, the flex is pretty nasty:
Next up, bigger motors with more torque, and the addition of a forth gear that will convert it to a 184 / 1 gear ratio
